SECURITY ENVELOPE PATTERN COLLECTION BY:

THE SOCIETY FOR THE EXPLORATION OF CONFIDENTIAL ENVELOPE TINTS

We are a playful collective of Obscurationists: amateur pattern-hunters, whimsical archivists, and curious minds united by one thing – wanting to learn all about security envelope patterns.

You know, those prints inside your bills the average person doesn’t think twice about? We think about them all the time. Through carefully cataloging, playful taxonomy, and global collaboration, we seek to build an evolving archive of these fascinating designs – one envelope at a time.

We believe that in secrecy, there is beauty; and in beauty, secrecy.

This is a living archive, and you’re warmly invited to participate in this security envelope pattern collection – whether by submitting new tints, supporting the project, or just reveling in the sheer unexpected joy of it all. Whether you’re here to contribute your finds, research patterns, or simply marvel at the unseen art of the everyday, welcome to the fold. You’re among friends.

After all, some secrets are meant to be shared.

THE S.E.C.R.E.T.

MISSION

Our mission is simple:

  • To document these patterns
  • To celebrate their artistry
  • To grow the security envelope pattern collection, and give the humble security envelope the attention it deserves

The Society exists to catalog, classify, and generally nerd out over the repetitive, confidential designs intended to obscure sensitive mail. We see them as miniature masterpieces of concealment – hypnotic, and strangely beautiful.
